The Project was part of a one-year school project in 2015/2016, at age 17, I designed a modular (camera) backpack and sewed a functional prototype. The underlying modular concept is patented since 15.11.2016.
Why a modular backpack? I am an enthusiastic hobby photographer myself and like to travel in nature. Back in 2015, I found that there was no backpack on the market that was large enough to carry out outdoor tours, lasting several days and in which all my photo-gear could be transported safely and easily accessible at the same time.Furthermore, I was annoyed by the fact that the existing backpacks are tailored very closely to the individual application: Laptop backpack, day backpack, school backpack, photo backpack, outdoor backpack. This is inconvenient, space- and cost-intensive for the customer (me) as well as not sustainable for our planet. The solution solved the above-mentioned problems with a modular approach as follows:
Use of (four) different modules, which can be used individually or in combination. Two different carrying systems ensure consistent comfort, over all carry-styles and backpack sizes.
All four modules (on the side) and one possible combination in the middle
Day-Module as horizontal backpack
Day-Module as Sling-Bag.
Photo Module as slingbag
Photo module as backpack
Laptop Module in different carrying styles
Day Backpack 40-50. (Consisting of Day, Camera and optionally Laptop Module)
Day Backpack 40-50l.
Hiking Backpack with 75l volume. (All Modules in one backpack).
